To get the greatest financial benefit, get a quote from the insurance company that you already have a policy with. Many insurances companies, will offer a discounted rate for additional policies. So if you already have a car or home insurance with XYZ company, call your agent for a discounted rate when purchasing your new motorcycle insurance policy. Also, rates are determined by a few factors including, your age, the engine size of the motorcycle, bike type and cost, your driving record and experience and if your plan to keep the cycle on the street or in a garage. For example, an older driver with a stellar driving record that purchases a new motorcycle and plan to house it in a garage; this person will have a cheaper rate. Lastly, motorcycle insurance can be reduced in the winter, when you are not riding it. This will also save you money a few months out of the year.
